Start it in safe mode, it's a problem with the resolution of your monitor. When you do, BO3 will start in 860x760 resolution and you will be able to modify it to your monitor in the settings. I did it in safe mode, there is a game popup, but it just closes off again. EDIT: It works now, my AV (bitdefender) was blocking it.

If you are running out of memory, try the following steps: 1. Right click in the bottom left hand corner of your desktop and select “System” from the menu. 2. Click ‘Advanced System settings

I used this method when I found out Black ops 2 wasn't working on my PS3 after I changed my PSN ID enjoy the video. Here are the steps: Right-click the CoD Black Ops Cold War icon on your desktop and click Properties. Navigate to the Compatibility tab. Then, tick Disable fullscreen optimizations. Click Change high DPI settings. Tick Override High DPI scaling behavior and select Application from the drop-down menu below.

Ever since PS4 got name change system, it fucked with a lot of COD games on PS3.. for black ops 2, you need to go on black ops 2, start a private local match, wait 10 seconds, log onto PSN, end match, go online.

Try using the ps3 game updater and download the update (pkg) for your bles and delete the old updates from the game data, and reinstall it. Other than that if that doesnt work then you have a messed up eboot that fails to load the game on start. Make sure your actually game eboot isnt changed. You should never changed it.
I recently wanted to play the Black Ops 2 campaign, but then I remember that the reason I never played it yet was because it kept freezing during one of the cutscenes. It freezes at the same exact spot, everytime I try to play it. I don't remember which mission it is, but I think it is the third or fourth one.
Boards. Call of Duty: Black Ops. My game freezes sometimes. Goku_M 12 years ago #1. I'll be playing on player match, core , team deathmatch or ground war and the game will suddenly freeze to the point where none of the buttons on my controller will do anything even the ps button in the middle. My only option is to turn off my ps3.

My friend has recently started to get fed up because he can no longer start up his copy of Black Ops. It used to work, but one day it just froze at the start screen no matter what. It would get to the point on where it zooms in on the "Activision" logo, then just freeze and go to a black screen.

You must do this everytime you boot up BO2If your PS3 is crashing everytime you boot up BO2 online then this workaround should be a solution! If this helped y
Deleting the system cache. Deleting the update. Reinstalling the update. You should also note that: I've set Black Ops so that it starts straight into Xbox Live. I never took the game disc out of the Xbox, nor was the system moved at any point -- there were no physical disruptions involved whatsoever.
I had exactly the same problem when running Black Ops 2 on a old piano-style 20GB PS3. Thinking that the PS3 was just too old, I got a Slim from Ebay. But it kept crashing in multiplayer - in the same way as the old PS3. I tried cooling it with a massive fan, hoovering out all the fluff, etc. with no effect.

Set it to 0 to use the system default, usually 3. MaxFrameLatency = "3" // 0 to 4. //0 use two threads, one thread update frame N while the second render N-1. 1 concatenate update and render. 2 concatenate update render and frame presentation.

It sounds like the update could be corrupted. First though, you could try repair database in case there is some wrong with the files or installation. You can access that via the PS3's safe mode function. That will generally try to repair any damaged files. Let me know how that goes. Here are my PC specs: CPU: Intel i5-8600K, 3600Mhz. GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070. RAM: 16 GB. This story does get a bit long so I'll leave a TL;DR here: Black ops 2 campaign consistently freezes/ crashes in the same places. Sometimes it will let me continue, other times it won't. Please give me advice on how I might be able to fix it.
Download & install the multiplayer, and run it once. Pretty sure you need the assets that are from the multiplayer maps too. If that doesn't work then uninstall everything, check if there's anything still in your game folder, delete that, then re-install both SP, MP, and DLC all from scratch. Chocolate_Short. • 2 yr. ago.

I've been having some problems with BO3 lately. I just bought the game yesterday and downloaded it overnight. I'm on Windows 11 Home. I've been able to play one short game of a one-room challenge but any other time I've started up the game it crashes anytime from selecting zombies to just after the start animation plays. Is it my OS or something with my game? Edit: Yes, I've restarted my
